swinburne open day billboard 2023
To advertise Swinburne’s Open Day 2023, I had the opportunity to write a headline for Bianca-Jaye, a speaker at the event. She’s a student who invented an in-ear device that prevents children with autism experiencing sensory overload in our noisy world.
The challenge was to explain the device in as few words as possible; hence, 'chaos calming earbuds'.
The Billboard was featured in some of Melbourne's most iconic spots like Flinder's Street Station and the Bourke Street Mall.
sWINBUrne direct posters
These poster advertisements were targeted at direct (non-VTAC) applications. The challenge was to work with the existing campaign language ‘for those who want to stop feeling undervalued/pretending to be happy/dreaming small’ and subvert it to empower the audience.
I played with the ‘for those who want to ‘ contrasting it with a crossed out ‘for those who won’t’. And used ‘start’ and ‘stop’ lines which fit the context of the busy road/traffic e.g. ‘start moving’, ‘stop feeling stuck’.
